Hoadley's Hallmark has an extensive inventory of Department 56 collectable lit villages on hand and displayed at our Sandwich, Illinois card and gift store.  From Department 56, Hoadley's carries the lit buildings and accessories of Dickens Village, the original Snow Village and Snow Village Halloween, Christmas in the City and New England Village.

It would be near impossible for us to describe and show all of the Department 56 items that we have in our extensive inventory.  For that reason we show only a sampling of the many Department 56 items available and in stock on our website.  We strongly suggest coming to our Sandwich, IL store to see all that is available.

Dickens' Village Series

2009 marks the 25th Anniversary of the Dickens' Village series, with an anniversary building and anniversary editions of some of the original Dickens' Village introductions. The Neilan Lund Gallery captures a glimpse of Neilan's passon; painting. artworks in the windows of the gallery are replicas of his actual works in his favorite themes of still life and landscape settings.

Crowntree Inn - Anniversary Edition"Crowntree Inn--Anniversary Edition"," Abel Beeslely Butcher--Anniversary Edition", and :"Golden Swan Baker--Anniversary Edition", are the first 3 in an ongoing series of new designs reinterpreting the original shops of Dickens' Village, introduced in 1984. snow village collectors edition series

New in Snow Village is the "White Castle" serving up burgers and signature "Slyders" in spotless venues since their debut in Witchita, KS in 1921. The revolutionary prefabricated and portable establishments, modeled after the Chicago Water Tower could be moved to more profitable locations.  View larger image

 

This year, "The Dancing Lights House" provides a new example of one-ups-manship with its lighting that dances to the music it emits.  View larger image


"Marjorie Johnson's Blue Ribbon Baked Goods" is a tribute to the namesake 4 foot 8 dynamo and over-achieving blue-ribbon baker, Marjorie Johnson, who won thousands of blue ribbons at the Minnesota State Fair. See larger image.


This years' Snow Village Collectors' Edition of 8,000 is an American Architecture series building, "The Colonial Revival" originally developed out of the patriotic spirit surrounding the American Centennial.  See larger image.


"Our Lady of Grace Church" is graced with beautiful stained-glass windows all along the sides and a rose window above the front door and a statue of St. Mary, Lady of Grace in the arched openings of the steeple tower.  View larger image.

North pole series


In North Pole, "Nollie & Ollie's Custom Snowboards" styling is reminiscent of some classic long-retired North Pole buildings, and features an elf perfecting his "jib" abilities on the front railing.  See larger image.

 


"The Reindeer stables, Prancer & Vixen" --The barn-raising continues at the North Pole, with Prancer & Vixen the beneficiaries of this luxurious new structure, with individual hay lofts tucked up under the steep twin turret towers.  See larger image.

 
 
Christmas in the city series


"Union Station", in Christmas in the City, the hand -numbered limited Collectors' Edition of 7,000 welcomes holiday travelers to this inviting metropolis, bids them a fond farewell, and awaits their happy return. The animated feature of a helpful porter and traveler exemplify the comings and goings of this grand landmark.  See larger image.



"21 Club" is one of the most well-know and glamorous restaurants in New York City. A favorite haunt of the rich and famous, 21 Club was a legendary speak-easy from the prohibition era. Over the years, renowned race horse breeders and owners have donated jockey statues that line the front of 21 Club to this day.  See larger image.

 
New england Village series

In New England Village series, "Providence Church" and the accessory "Setting up the Nativity" are inspired by Providence, Rhode Island, founded in 1636 by Roger Williams, a religious exile. He named the area in honor of :"God's Merciful Providence".  See larger image.

 
Snow village halloween series

The celebration of the tenth anniversary of The Original Snow Village Halloween continues on track with the second car in the midnight train to Halloween "Haunted Rails Dining Car". In "Gravely Estate"., the turret features animated silhouette scenes--downstairs ghouls are chasing the residents--or is it the other way around? Upstairs, witches are flying around, never to find their way out.  See larger image.


"Croak-N-Haggard Mortuary" the hand-numbered limited Collectors' Edition of 8,000 is the last stop before the final resting place. An eerie green light emanates from the coffin on the porch, and while part of the lighted interior seems normal, another is blood red.  See larger image.
